We are looking at the player that elevated their game and stepped up when it mattered most taking both themselves and their teams to the next level.
Mercury Elite had another successful summer on the circuit with their play particularly at the 17U level. They were led by a duo of talented wings that both went from relative unknowns on D1 radar to both securing multiple offers. Our choice for Mercury Elite’s program MVP is Glenbard West shooting guard Justin Pierce. The 6’5” guard showed his ability to score at all three levels throughout the spring and summer on the circuit. He is athletic and can get to the basket with solid ball handling. His jumper is a weapon from both mid-range and three. Pierce shoots it with confidence and got buckets in bunches. Also contributed on the glass.
He was at his best at the NY2LA Next Level Invitational to open July. On the first night of the July evaluation period he had his full offensive arsenal working. Against Kingdom Hoops Pierce dropped 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He would continue that play throughout the event. After that initial game the offers began to roll in for the top 15 prospect! Pierce was among the biggest stock risers overall from the circuit this past spring and summer.
