The 6’6” wing was phenomenal with Mercury Elite and picked up offers at record pace in July. After taking official visits to William & Mary, Belmont, and Boston University the senior has made his decision. Pierce has committed to William & Mary on Thursday afternoon. He told us why they were his choice.
“William & Mary had everything I was looking for. Opportunity to play right away and make an impact, a great education, and coaches and players I really got along with.”
Pierce spoke about how he feels he will fit in with his new team.
“They love bringing in versatile players and I can be effective scoring at all three levels for them.”
How did the whole commitment process go down once he returned from his last official?
“I weighed all my options and realized William and Mary had everything I was looking for so I pulled the trigger.”
The 6’6” shooting guard took his game to another level with Mercury Elite during the spring and summer. We saw him at several tournaments in July where he lit it up, but was particularly effective at NY2LA the first weekend of the live period in which he displayed his full offensive repertoire. Pierce can score at all three levels including a plus jumper from mid-range and deep. The athletic guard attacks with solid handles and competes on the glass.
Pierce is the #9 overall prospect and #3 shooting guard in the class of 2016.
