Mr. Basketball Candidate: DeJon Jarreau

There will be a power ranking of those players as the season approaches.</em></span></span><br /><br /> <span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Player: </strong>DeJon Jarreau, McDonogh 35, 6&#39;5 Guard</span></span><br /> <br /> <span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Previous Season: </strong>23-13 record, 4A Semi-Finalist, 4A All-State</span></span><br /> <br /> <span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Why Will He Win?</strong> DeJon Jarreau is the highest ranked 2016 player in the state across the board nationally for a reason. He is extremely talented and has the versatility to be a threat in many different ways. Elite level speed and quickness with the handles and athleticism to score in traffic isn&#39;t common at 6&#39;5. Once he leads McDonogh 35 to another run with the numbers he&#39;ll have along the way, he&#39;ll be a front-runner. When fully healthy like he is now, Jarreau is a match-up nightmare.</span></span><br /> <br /> <span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Why Won&#39;t He Win? </strong>McDonogh 35 will need to have a better record this year for him to be a real threat. A deep run in the playoffs is also a necessity. Those are the main deterrents to a Mr. Basketball for Jarreau. He&#39;s ranked the highest for a reason and if he&#39;s able to play at his highest level throughout the year, thus lead McD35 to a nice record and deep run, he may very well be the 2015-2016 Louisiana Mr. Basketball.</span></span></p>
