“I really liked the coaches there and built a good relationship with them,” said Beeninga about his future coaching staff.
“Also the school is not too far from home so my family can see me. I really liked the players when I visited and the style the Dragons play basketball fits my play well.”
Beeninga spent his high school years playing with Net Gain Sports in the spring and summer and the experience was valuable in many different ways.
“I became tougher with the ball and improved my shot this year,” Johnny said.
“I became a smarter player. Net Gain Sports was great, I have had many memories from all the years playing that will stay with me. I enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Also the competition was very good always.”
Wayzata returns everything from a year ago when they won 20 games and finished as section champs behind Champlin Park. What should we expect from the Trojans this year?
“I am very excited for my senior year season and to play with my high school teammates. I think we have very good players and we play well together.
“My team and myself need to continue to get in the weight room and practice in the gym if we want to meet our goals.”
