Commitment Report: Johnny Beeninga (2016)

<p><strong>Johnny Beeninga</strong> was one of the first 2016 talents to figure out where he wanted to play as he accepted an offer from the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragons a few weeks ago.  Why did Johnny choose the Dragons?  There were several reasons.</p> <p>“I really liked the coaches there and built a good relationship with them,” said Beeninga about his future coaching staff.</p> <p>“Also the school is not too far from home so my family can see me. I really liked the players when I visited and the style the Dragons play basketball fits my play well.”</p> <p>Beeninga spent his high school years playing with Net Gain Sports in the spring and summer and the experience was valuable in many different ways.</p> <p>“I became tougher with the ball and improved my shot this year,” Johnny said.</p> <p>“I became a smarter player. Net Gain Sports was great, I have had many memories from all the years playing that will stay with me. I enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Also the competition was very good always.”</p> <p>Wayzata returns everything from a year ago when they won 20 games and finished as section champs behind Champlin Park.  What should we expect from the Trojans this year?</p> <p>“I am very excited for my senior year season and to play with my high school teammates. I think we have very good players and we play well together.</p> <p>“My team and myself need to continue to get in the weight room and practice in the gym if we want to meet our goals.”</p>
