6-2 Wing Breon Harper-2018 Thomas Jefferson
Very athletic wing that can score from just about anywhere on the court. Probably our most consistent three-point shooter and our best dunker, which sums up how versatile he is. We were undersized this summer so Breon often had to defend much bigger kids, but his natural position is SG.
5-11 SG Muezzin Muwwakkil – 2018 Smoky Hill
Mue is a scorer, plain and simple, and he scores in bunches. Once he gets on a roll he can run off 10-12 points in a five minute span. He attacks the basket about as well as any kid in Colorado. He was more of a forward when he was younger so he is just learning the guard position, so his upside is huge.
6-2 PG Xavier Cooper – 2018 Thomas Jefferson
X was our most consistent player through the summer. He handles the ball well and sees the floor as well as any HS pg around. He is quick enough to defend point guards and strong enough (190 lbs) to defend power forwards. He gets to the hoop easily and finishes well with both hands. Also has an improving three ball.
5-11 PG Dimitri Stanley -2018 Cherry Creek
“Meat” is one of the fastest kids in the state. He is our lock down guy whenever we play against a real quick PG. Very skilled ball-handler that can get into the paint any time he wants. Jump shot is still a work in progress, but once it gets more consistent he will be really tough to guard. Was starting WR as a freshman on Creek’s state championship football team.
6-1 SG Ryan Marquez – 2018 Pomona
Ryan is extremely athletic and has a non-stop motor. Gets his hands on a lot of balls defensively and is one of those players that is always in the right place at the right time. Streaky shooter that had 20 points in one half during a final four game in Dallas this summer. Will be the starting QB for top ranked Pomona football this fall.
6-10 C Dawson Carper – 2018 Rampart
Dawson is a real big kid that is just now learning to use what God has given him from a physical standpoint. Very soft hands and good footwork for a kid his size. He is almost impossible to get off of the block once he posts up, and defensively he uses his bulk and height well. He will end up a 7 footer and will be highly recruited by the time he is done with HS.
6-0 PG Keland Rumsey – 2018 Chatfield
Keland has the best motor on the team and may be our best rebounder, pound-for-pound. He has a real nice floater game and a decent three ball. His strengths are his tenaciousness and his sneaky “bounce” that allows him to go inside and get a lot of offensive rebounds and put-backs.
6-1 F Jahwan Phillips – 2018 Smoky Hill
Jahwan plays much bigger than his height. He consistently guarded kids 3-6 inches taller than him and didn’t give an inch. Very good rebounder and has shooting range out to the three-point line. Not a tougher kid around and a kid you can always count on that won’t back down from anyone.
6-1 F Ben Frenette – 2018 Chatfield
Ben is another two sport kid (RB for Chatfield). Very versatile in that he can play SG, SF, or PF. Good three-point shooter and outstanding defender. Led our team in taking charges this summer. Seems to play his best in big games.
