2017 sharpshooter Kolton Peterson grabs offer

<p>Recruiting attention continues to pour in for Colorado’s talented 2017 basketball class.</p> <p><strong>Kolton Peterson</strong>, a sharpshooting Lakewood junior, announced via Twitter on Sunday that he had received his first offer from the Air Force Academy.</p> <p>Air Force also offered 2017 wing Jalen Sanders this week, according to the Valor Christian player’s Twitter account.</p> <p>Peterson’s strength is an ability to score in bunches. He averaged 23 points per game as only a sophomore at Lakewood last season, leading the entire state in scoring for much of the season.</p> <p>Peterson, the fifth-ranked player in Prep Hoop Colorado’s 2017 rankings, shot 48 percent from the floor last season and 44 percent (93-of-212) from the 3-point line.</p> <p>Peterson was hot all summer for his Shining Stars AAU team, which he led to a top-8 finish at the Sunflower Showcase during the final July evaluation period, scoring 32 points with seven 3-pointers in one game.</p> <p>Peterson has received attention from several other Division I programs, and this rising wing with improved defensive skills is sure to see more offers on the way.</p>
