Port Charlotte’s do it all guy, Settles, had himself quite the week. The 6’4″ junior had multiple 20 point games, and proved he can score both inside and out. He has the size and strength to finish down low with contact, but can also hurt you from deep where he shoots the 3-ball at a high rate. Defensively he has the ability to guard every position on the floor and rebounds the ball very well on both ends of the court.

At 6-4, Settles is physical inside, a strong rebounder, and capable of scoring from anywhere. His smooth jumper from deep makes him tough to guard, and he brings the kind of energy and intensity that sets the tone for his team. As he continues to develop, Settles is shaping up to be one of Venice’s key leaders.

The sophomore prospect had a great first season with Venice and it carried over to his play this summer. Settles produced each and every time he stepped on the court and continues to build his game, becoming a well-known name in the area. He plays the game hard and with a lot intensity. He rebounds the ball very well and can score on all 3-levels. Settles has a smooth stroke from the outside but can also bang down low when needed. Look for the 6’4″ SF to continue to mature as a player and be one of the leaders for his Venice squad, in just his second season.

This 6’4″ freshman CG is really starting to make a name for himself early on in his career. Settles has a tremendous basketball IQ and plays with passion and intensity. Every time he steps on the court he gives it 110% and just loves to play the game. He is averaging 10.3 ppg and 3.5 rpg, including 6 double-digit scoring performances for the Indians in 2023. Settles is a 3-level scorer who can get to the rim and finish with both hands, but is also an exceptional free-throw and 3-point shooter. He scored a season-high 19 points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a tough fought double-overtime loss to a talented Bradenton Christian squad, where he had some clutch baskets down the stretch to keep Venice in the game. Settles is a young prospect to monitor with very high upside, who should start seeing interest from colleges very soon.

Settles has the intangibles to be a strong on-the-ball defender as well where he can guard both positions out on the perimeter where he forces the opposition into taking tough shots. Settles has a strong understanding for the game as well where his IQ continues to rise and could become a big-time prospect as his high school career rolls on. Settles is also having a strong start to his freshman averaging 10.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game this season for the Indians.
