Previous Rank: 51rnFassilis was a monster at the end of last season and has kept that same energy entering the midway point of the 2022-23 season. He is a 6’5 point-forward that does everything for a Union team fighting to prep for a postseason run. He runs the offense, instigates action to the rim, rebounds on both ends of the floor, and has the ability to defend the rim against some of the best inside players. I would challenge you to find another player that shoulders that kind of responsibility in the state. With all that responsibility and capability, he obviously possesses a ton of skill that allows him to fit the mold of multiple positions, but somehow, he overshadows that versatility and skill with the effort and tenacity he plays with.

The big man from Union is at the top of the list for this county. The transfer from Washougal after his sophomore season hasn’t missed a beat. He is one of the best low post players who aren’t over 6’5 in the state. He can create space and is strong enough to bully his way to the hoop. He also is a crafty scorer who just knows how to get buckets. He’s got a nice touch from mid-range. He plays smart and uses his strength and low post moves to score and rebound against taller players. He should have a big season as a senior. He already has three solid varsity seasons under his belt.

Fassilis was irreplaceable for Union last season. He was one of their top scorers, he blocked shots, rebounded, and dimed out assists. With Bryson Metz gone, Fassilis will be leaned on even more to make plays and lead the charge for the Titans. He could be in for a monster season when all is said and done.

Fassilis is one of the tougher players you’ll see. He’s a bit undersized sometimes but he never lets it slow him down. A beast on the boards and capable of 2-3 blocks per game, Fassilis will be counted on to be a constant presence inside. That being said, he also fits into the run and gun gameplan because of his ability to grab a board and go. Fassilis has excellent ball skills and even acted as point-forward for Union in some key moments last season. His toughness and versatility will be key for this squad.

You could say he’s undersized in the post, but you wouldn’t know it by watching him play. He uses his big body well and he will establish space in the paint to be an effective scorer on the block. He is a crafty big who will wreak havoc and does the little things that win games. He does not shy away from contact and frustrates opponents with his ability to establish himself on the block. It is his toughness that allows him to be a big time scorer and a problem for opposing teams.
