Matusik quite simply had a huge night. Chelsea’s shooters were being hounded by Summit Academy’s perimeter defense, but that opened up space under the rim. And Matusik took advantage. He was all over the glass on both ends of the floor. Matusik had some high percentage buckets around the rim, but also to muscle some in. This young man showed a ton of grit and toughness last night.

Matusik and his Chelsea team will play Marshall at Fowlerville High School. Matusik is, in my opinion, an underrated defender. He has a wingspan and he seems to instinctually know how to use it. Matusik moves well horizontally in the lane and can play help defense when maintaining verticality.

Matusik and his Chelsea team will play tonight against Jackson. He’s turned some heads with his play so far this season and should continue to do so. Matusik has some natural instincts when it comes to defending the rim. He does a nice job staying vertical and using his length.

I saw Matusik play last high school season and was very excited about his game. He has a chance to be a highly influential player on both ends of the floor. Matusik is a definite plus defender in the paint as well as a solid rebounder. He pairs well with that Bulldog backcourt we talked about yesterday.

Matusik is a great baseball player from what I hear, but there’s plenty of athletes that explore multiple sports. I’ve really like Matusik’s game since the high school season. He has a wide wingspan and can challenge shots with it. Matusik just seems to be around the ball and find it off the glass.
