Simpson and his Dexter team earned a 55-31 win against Ann Arbor Skyline. The talented post player led the way by almost picking up a double-double. Simpson finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds. He added 3 blocks on the defensive end of the floor. With Simpson being a post influencer like this, Dexter could make a big run.

Simpson is another player that had a really big grassroots season. He showed really good feet on both ends of the floor. Simpson even showed the ability to run the floor and be a threat from the outer thirds in transition. It’ll be fun to watch him put his summer improvement on display during high school season.

Simpson was one of the most improved players that I saw from high school season through grassroots season. He got stronger and more physically dominating, which is a great sign for the next level. Simpson has always been athletic, but it looked like he learned how to use it, especially in the open floor.

Simpson grabbed my attention a couple of times in July. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – the improvement from last high school season to now is HUGE. Simpson is a different player and has all the look of a college forward. He’s more dominant down low and looks more confident from the perimeter as well.

I’ve seen and written about Simpson a lot lately, but hey, he deserves it. The young man has obviously worked hard on his game. Simpson is more mobile and athletic which has been allowing him to have more freedom on the floor. More coaches and scouts need to see 1st hand at The Expo.

Simpson has had my eye for a month now. I just really like the direction that his game is going in. The first thing that I noticed was his jumper during drill work. I don’t know make and miss numbers, but I do know that he continues to look way more comfortable than during high school season. Simpson did a good job rebounding high and trying to control the glass.

Simpson grabbed my attention very quickly when I saw him at The Final Chapter. He looked like a different player than he was just 4 months ago during the high school state playoffs. Simpson looked very athletic and comfortable on the move. He was able to get out in the open floor and even scored a couple times because of it. Simpson is a player to watch very closely going forward.

I’ve always loved Simpson’s upside and I see it every time he plays. He’s gotten stronger since I last saw him in person. He definitely carries a next level frame and conditioning now. Simpson was able to use these things walling up in the paint and challenging and blocking shots. He’s able to battle for position under the rim and be a factor on the offensive glass.

Simpson is a very solid all around athlete. From the grapevine, he’s an excellent baseball player as well. But Simpson has game on the basketball court as well. He has good feet and moves well in the paint. Simpson could become a high level rim protector.
