Sullivan has been huge down the stretch for the Blue Devils, notching five double-doubles in their last eight games and showing how that athleticism translates to the rebounding game. He shoots the 3 pretty well but has looked most effective getting to the rim where he has the bounce to finish high over the defense. He’s also a guy who can stretch out and make some acrobatic finishes around defenders, and does a great job anticipating rebounds to crash in and get tons of tip-ins. They’ve locked in the top seed out of the MCC 3A with just one game remaining before postseason play.

Here is a 6’4 guard prospect who can do a lot of things at a high level. He is an elite shooter. He covers a lot of ground and can get to the rack and finish with highlight dunks. He is an all level scorer with size and length. Perhaps even more impressive is the way he plays defense. He takes pride in his defense and he does it well. He is a lock down defender who moves his feet extremely well for his size. I can’t emphasize the talent and upside here enough. He is a prospect that should be getting attention at all levels.

He has started to come into his own and show what he can do in his junior season. He has the size and athletic ability combo that not many shooting guards have. He is 6’4 and has great jumping ability. He has turned into a great defender and uses his length and quickness to often times take on the best player on the opposing teams. He has the potential to be the defensive player of the year in the Mid-Co conference which shows his versatility. He is a shooter in his own right. He’s connected on 13 of 24 treys to start the season. He doesn’t have quite the volume of the rest but a balanced attack from Walla Walla has been the story so far. He added 7 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks to the stat sheet in one game. That is the kind of player he has become. His shot is smooth and in rhythm with the catch and shoot. He had usually deferred to the dribble drive to get to the rim in the past, now he has become a knock down shooter. He is averaging around 13 or 14 points a game. I also expect him to up that with his talent level. He can get hot, create off the dribble, and is an all level legit scorer. He will also throw it down with authority if he gets a good look at the basket in the open floor or in the half court. He has the potential to make huge gains in the next few years.

Sullivan was a solid player for the Walla Walla Blue Devils last season, but with a fair amount of backcourt players graduated Sullivan is in position to be one of the top players heading into the winter. He’s a tall guard that has grown to 6’4, gotten stronger and shown a dynamic offensive profile over the summer. Sullivan is an above average shooter with some sneaky athleticism that plays around the hoop and in transition. And he’s an underrated playmaker that should share a lot of those responsibilities this season. Sometimes all you need is the opportunity, and Sullivan should have plenty in 2022-23.

I’m going to put these two guys together, not just because they’re on the same team, but because they are both extremely skilled and strong finishers. Sullivan has a bit more athleticism, is a bit stronger, and is sprouting up to 6’4 this offseason. Gardea has more of a point guard attitude and leads with great poise and an easy outside stroke. Both players have smooth handles, finish at the hoop with either hand, and have great length defensively. With a ton of seniors graduating from last year’s squad, Gardea and Sullivan should team up to make a formidable backcourt in the 3A MCC next season.

He might have the most upside in the Mid Columbia 3A/4A conference. At 6’4″, he’s got the size and length, combined with great skills. He’s a knock down shooter, and shoots it effortlessly from deep. He is a good ball handler and can be trusted to bring it up. One thing that stands out was his ability to read the defense. If he’s guarded closely, he’s good at going by the defense to finish or find his teammates. The fact that he can handle the ball so well is huge for him. Four skills that will turn into to weapons. His size, athleticism, shooting ability, and handles. Those four things give him options when he has the ball and those options will turn into weapons! He also crashes the boards, and plays a smart floor game. He will no doubt take over as the main option for Walla Walla next season. He even had a monster put back dunk on a rebound this summer that was impressive to give an idea of his athletic abilities . A little bit of a late bloomer, he’s ready to go and will continue to make big time gains. College coaches are starting to notice. He’s got two more years. Player to watch!
