Big shots kept finding Keppen in the state title game, especially in the fourth quarter. Westin drilled the game-winning three with 38 seconds left from the left wing to lift the Golden Lions to their first state title and a perfect season. Keppen drilled three of St. Pius X’s four three-pointers as the rest of the roster struggled to shoot, just 1-11 after making 12 as a team in the Final 4. Westin’s mettle in crunch time was impressive as the senior didn’t shy away from making any timely plays. He finished with 13 points and 3 assists.

Westin has no wasted movements when getting into this three-point shot. He was nearly automatic against Jonesboro, cashing in on three long balls as he provided 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Keppen has some sturdiness to his frame which allows him to be a physical defender. He’s quicker than what he looks and he’s a grizzled competitor on both ends of the floor.

Keppen has become a fixture in the St. Pius X backcourt after averaging 12 points, 4 assists, 1.5 steals and shooting 38% from three as a junior. Westin has grown as a playmaker. When he catches the ball on the perimeter not only can he burn teams with his outside shot, but he’s a steady slasher who can get to the rim or kick out to shooters. Westin’s combo game makes him a valuable cog offensively.
