He is comfortable taking on either the Batman or Robin role depending on what the game calls for and does not need the ball in his hands to make an impact. Rankin is a capable shooter from beyond the arc and provides spacing when playing off the basketball. He also shows good feel as a passer, moving the ball to teammates for scoring opportunities. His versatility and willingness to embrace different roles should put him on the radar of small-college programs.

Rankin showed the ability to play both on and off the basketball and impacted the game in a variety of ways. He displayed a well-rounded skill set, finding opportunities to contribute as a scorer, playmaker, and floor spacer. In the half-court, he did a nice job utilizing ball screens to create advantages, getting into the teeth of the defense and making sound decisions with the ball in his hands. His versatility and ability to fit alongside different types of players make him an intriguing prospect who should continue to gain traction with small college programs moving forward.
