A high academic prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, Newkirk is a skilled lead guard who looks poised for a productive senior season following impressive evaluations this fall. He has a good command of the basketball, sees the floor well and is a capable passer who can create scoring opportunities for his teammates. With better than average foot speed and the ability to make shots off the dribble, Newkirk brings a combination of playmaking and scoring ability to the backcourt.

Newkirk looks ready to embrace a much larger role this season. The confident guard creates offense off the bounce, gets to his spots comfortably, and has no hesitation taking big shots. He showed the ability to score from all three levels while keeping defenders off balance with his pace. As Santa Fe replaces key production, expect Newkirk to become one of the primary offensive options.

Newkirk showed flashes of a player ready for a larger offensive role. He created his own shot, scored from multiple levels, and played with confidence throughout the event. As Santa Fe transitions into a new season, he’ll likely be counted on heavily to provide scoring production.
