About Tyrell
Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
Bowles in a beanstalk post who does good job showing off his athleticism on either ends of the floor. He is effective from the dunker spots. He has great timing when going up to contest shots. Bowles is active on the boards. He does a good job of staying home on defense and not committing bailout fouls. He continues to get better with time and is just starting to scratch the surface. Bowles should be a priority recruit for preps up and down the northeast.

Led the CH Flowers to the Quarters-finals of the State 4A. Averaged 21pts, 9 rebounds and 3 block a game this season. Bless with solid footwork and makes great cuts. Gets to his soft spots in the defense and knocking down shots at high percentage comfortable from 15 feet and in. Sound mechanics and scores in the post. Take advantage of switches with jump hooks over either shoulder or quick spins. Comfortable post passer. Handles double teams well. Sound feel for the game. I would like to see Tyrell play with more aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. Will most definitely need to stronger to be a contributing college 4/5 man.

Bowles has an incredible feel for the game and still presents upside with his overall game. At 6’8, he does an exceptional job in knowing how to operate in the post and in the paint, showing footwork, feel, and touch around the basket. He also has excellent timing on the glass and presents a defensive presence for his team. Defensively Bowles protected the rim and controlled the boards on both ends of the floor. Once Bowles get stronger and work on playing more aggressive down low. Bowles is one of the top unsigned prospects in the class of 2025 in the DMV market.

20p 9r 1a 1b vs Douglass
-Bowles played like a T25 prospect in the area, impacting the game on both ends of the floor with an aggressive performance in the win over Douglass. Bowles finished 1 board shy of a triple double, actively hammering the offensive glass to extend possessions for his team. Bowles ran the floor well in transition but also played well in the halfcourt, timing his duck-ins in front of the rim or on the low block to catch a quick post feed before getting into his move. Loved the reverse pivot after a defender cut off his path to the rim on an initial spin, with Bowles pivoting back to score with a soft baby hook with the right. His best sequence of the game came with a chasedown block of glass followed by an outlet, sprint, and 2-handed alley finish at the other end. With his athleticism and good size for a W/F tweener, I expect some of these college coaches begin to pull the trigger late to land an athletic prospect with some upside.

Big man Tyrell Bowles did what a true big man does all day. He was great rolling to the basket and finishing at the rim with dunks and layups. He was a solid defensive presence and rebounded well. He also had a big performance in the final and was one of the better true bigs on the day.

Big frame that will impact the game inside and out. Help compete on the glass, be comfortable in stepping out, and use his body to his advantage. Tyrell will be running with Team Loaded this spring & summer.
