Scott Hankamp | Prep Hoops Scout
Walther had a bit of a breakout summer and fall. He’s established himself as a top notch player in the class of 2025. Walther plays off 2 feet and attack matchups. He brings energy and effort to both ends of the floor.

Walther’s name belongs on this list. He’s an engaged defender that plays angles and passing lanes very well. Walther just has some of that defensive playmaker in him. He eyes the ball and gets big steals and deflections.

Walther was coming off a very impressive grassroots season and there were a lot of people in the gym that were very excited to see him. He definitely didn’t disappoint. Walther showed vastly improved athleticism and playmaking all summer, and that was still there. But it was his high basketball IQ and ability to influence the game in the right ways that really stood out at The Expo.

Walther and his game spoke volumes at The Expo. He showed that he can and will play off 2 feet and can attack the defense inside-out and outside-in. As good as Walther was with the ball, he worked equally as hard without it. He was even seen setting screens off the ball.

I always find it encouraging when someone who is receiving lots of recognition on social media has actually earned it. After seeing him play for the first time yesterday, I too, will join the Tucker Hype-Train. This kid can flat-out play and was the best all-around basketball player in the gym. It makes sense he’s a #MakeShots kid, because he can score effectively. Walther didn’t shoot great from deep in the game I saw, but didn’t miss a FT and looked extremely comfortable shooting off of different actions. Tucker also has no problem taking smaller defenders down into the low post and using impressive footwork to create easy baskets for himself. And I have to acknowledge, he is the only player I saw yesterday that was constantly setting off-ball screens for his teammates! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention his overall effort on the defensive end, getting steals in transition and tipping passes in the half-court. I’m excited to watch Walther continue the tear he’s been on this season for Schoolcraft.

Walther has a chance to be a showtime player at The Expo. He had a huge summer grassroots season and is riding a ton of momentum. He’s an underrated overall athlete that can finish above the rim as well as step out and deliver from behind the arc. Coaches should be tuned in on Walther this weekend.

The Strictly Skills star made a cameo appearance with Parallel 45 this weekend at Braw For The Ball. It worked out way more than well for him. There was a lot of talk about his performance. He came up big in big moments as a heady and efficient scorer. He had a 21 point game and also hit a deep buzzer beater to force overtime, which eventually led to a W.

Walther has been on a consistent and quick rise up the prospect rankings. He’s a good old fashioned gym rat that will maximize his potential. Walther is a smooth shooting wing, but offers much more than that. His underrated athleticism allows him to finish strong at the bucket.
