A very good all-around athlete who also excels on the football field, Thurs had a banner senior season at Marathon. He earned Player of the Year laurels in the Marawood South Conference while leading the Red Raiders to the league title and a 25-3 record. Filled up the stat sheet pretty much every night for coach Adam Jacobson as he averaged 13.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.6 steals for a very balanced squad. Shot 52 percent from the field and proved to be a strong defender for Marathon, particularly in its 1-3-1 zone.
