About Tristan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Defense is my passion. Scoring is always fun but, there is always something about denying access to the basket.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Team dynamics are key. A successful team is not determined by any single player. We are all going to have our ups and downs as a team and individually. Every day I strive to be better than I was the day before, to learn from my mistakes and my achievements. To encourage those around me and never quit until the buzzer sounds.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have played for my High School and Middle School teams. I have also played for the Dallas Basketball Association, the PAC in Salem, Players Skills Academy in Salem and have played with Exact International in Spain.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

We are a team, win or lose we do it together. That means we need to train and work together as a team. I think leaders should lead by example both on and off the court. We should be positive examples in the classroom, in our communities and within our families.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Playing as a freshman on the high school varsity team, taught me a lot about perseverance. Although I was just as tall/taller as players from other schools, I physically wasn't as strong. As a 15-year-old competing against 18-year-olds I just didn't have the physical maturity they did. I had to adapt and find ways to overcome those obstacles. This helped increase my awareness on the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is going to be beneficial for the both of us. I take my academics seriously and understand my commitment to represent the school goes beyond my contributions on the court.
