Tristan Frimodt

Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Frimodt is another kid that did a great job using footwork and balance to attack defenses and really live around the paint with his drives. He’s a kid who can light it up from 3-point but found a rhythm off the bounce, and showed he understands attacking angles as well as keeping that contact with defenders until the last minute to create space for finishes at the rim. He’s a smart attacker that also made a number of excellent reads on the defensive end that led to quick breaks the other way.

I was impressed with him at the state tournament in Spokane. He will only be a junior next season, but his game seems as though he is much older. He is an all level scorer. He uses his strength to get into the lane and finish with a variety of floaters and pull-up jumpers. He has tremendous body control and picks his spots well. He is deadly from the outside as well. He squares up his shot and uses his leg strength to shoot it effortlessly from beyond the arc. He is already a good shooter, and could become elite with the shot mechanics he already has. He is a bulldog when getting downhill and crafty around the rim. He knows how to change speeds and is a certified bucket getter.

Another sophomore. I watched him twice. He is a baller. He is always in control and if you leave him it’s almost automatic. His mid-game is as good as I saw in the tournament. He has a soft touch and makes some tough shots. He squares well to the basket and his legs are under him on his shots. He did it all, including over 20 points in the second half when his team separated themselves from Lake Roosevelt. He makes it look easy. He is strong and crafty. One of my favorite players to watch in the tournament.

Only a sophomore, he was MVP of his league last year as a freshman. Getting around 18PPG. He pairs great shooting, decent size and toughness in the lane to get his points from all over the floor. Burbank loves to run and he can finish on the other end.

MVP of his league as a freshman. He’s a strong guard who can score on all levels. He’s also great at running the floor and getting to the basket. He’ll make shots from long distance as well.
