Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
It came in losing fashion but Jones nonetheless flashed a promising two-way skillset to establish some momentum as he prepares to step into a marquee role as an upperclassman. The sophomore lead guard shared primary ballhandling duties and was a consistent spark with his shiftiness off the bounce. He showed polished pullup mechanics with confident range out to the arc. Jones would score five of his eight points during a key third-quarter sequence featuring a steal and layup followed by a foul on a 3-point attempt, sparking the Crusaders back from an 18-point deficit. His energetic play on both ends of the floor should have no problem making fans out of college coaches in years to come.

Taking on primary ballhandling duties for the bulk of the game, Jones impressed with his ability to handle pressure and control the flow of the game from the point of attack. He’s quick and shifty off the bounce but decisive attacking his spots and making the simple read. Jones plays with a fun bounce in his step and shows flashes as a dynamic pullup shooter with quick elevation and range out to the arc. Defensively, he uses his quick feet to mirror the ball and throw the opposing offense off schedule. Jones should look forward to a debut in the next update of our 2028 rankings with a chance to emerge as a scholarship-level prospect down the line.
