A three-year varsity performer at Luther, the left-handed Byus is a steadying influence for the Knights. He can attack the basket off the bounce and rise up for perimeter jump shots. Defensively, he has the ability to defend both guards and forwards. Byus finished with 15 points and did so by making foul shots, dropping a three and getting to the basket as Luther won its ninth game of the campaign against four setbacks.

Byus, who plays for the Wisconsin Playmakers on the Prep Hoops Circuit, showed he can still find his way to the hoop and shoot it from downtown during the action last night. He has good athleticism and is confident on the court. He did not seem to be 100% physically, but still managed to run the point effectively, hit threes and use his quick first step to get around defenders. He is persistent and almost always on the attack with the ball in his hands. If he doesn’t convert on the drive, he often draws a foul. He was easily in double digits in the game I watched.
