Expert Analysis
Eliot Clough | Prep Hoops Scout
Easily Swarm’s top offensive option for the majority of the weekend, Spencer Blanchette was described by one of his coaches as “the fastest player with the ball in his hands I’ve seen.”
Shifty like a third-down running back or a slot receiver, Blanchette’s first step was among the best in Sioux Falls, getting up the court in transition and also blowing by defenders in the half court. Using the burst to create shots on the perimeter, too, Blanchette used his tight handle and explosiveness to create space and fire away step-back jumpers on the outside.
The guy that made everything happen for Swarm on offense, Blanchette moved with and without the basketball, always in attack mode and looking to exploit any given weakness in the defense.

Was impressed with this kid’s quickness, his first step was awesome honesty and haven’t seen many better in that category. Has good handles, showed a nice pull up jumper inside of 15ft, excellent energy on the defensive side of the floor. Was not shy about going inside against bigger players. Let’s game come to him, plays under control.
