Spann fits the defensive theme from some of the players listed above. He can pressure even high level ball handlers and force them into a turnover, or at least move the ball. Spann has great defensive anticipation and has a knack for turning defense into quick offense.

Spann is starting to get the next level looks that he deserves. I had the chance to coach him this summer, and I can say without a doubt, next level coaches should want him in their program. Spann is a high speed playmaker on the offensive end of the floor. Defensively, he’s a legitimate perimeter stopper.

I got to see Spann up close this summer and the young man has a lot going for him. We want to see this 2 way player show off his skills for scouts and coaches. Spann has the potential to be one of the best perimeter defenders in Michigan. He’s pesky on D and can force turnovers and bad passes. Spann can make plays for himself and his teammates on the offensive end.

Solomon Spann was going to play with the Midwest Stampede North, but an injury will keep him out. No concerns on the injury, but better to be safe. But hey, let’s get the kid some ink anyways. Spann is an elite perimeter defender that can play chest to chest and force bad decisions. Offensively, he’s a playmaker off the bounce.

At The Expo, Spann proved to be a prospect that college coaches should have on their radar. He has a deserved reputation as a worker that stresses being fundamentally sound. Spann is a first in the gym and last to leave type of athlete. At The Expo, he was smart with the ball recognizing good looks at the rim and moving the ball when it needed to be. Spann also showed that he can make athletic moves with the ball in his hands.

Early to the gym and late to leave sums up Spann’s approach to the game. I love what he brings to the table as a prospect and his play last weekend backed that up. He’s an elite rebounding guard that has a terrific mid range game. Spann proved that he’s a scoring threat in transition and that he can effectively influence a game on both ends of the floor.

Spann is a must see player this weekend in Grand Rapids. He’s a young man that’s just flat out willing to work. I’ve seen Spann show up early and put in work before most others are even at the gym. He’s a true 2 way player that can lock down high level opponents.

Spann IV impressed me with his hustle before the event even began. He was in the gym early going through a determined and thought out warmup. That dedication didn’t end when the event started, as Spann IV was willing to do the dirty work and earn hustle points.
