Expert Analysis
Michael Yorke | Prep Hoops Scout
Croom is an extremely athletic combo guard in the 2028 class. Croom is a very good defender who can guard multiple positions and makes plays both inside and on the perimeter, but what stood out to me most was his anticipation and ability to jump passing lanes, which led to a lot of easy baskets and some highlight dunks. Offensively, he’s a very aggressive driver with a lot of bounce, and he thrives in transition. Overall, Croom has a lot of upside and was one of the most athletic players from the weekend.

Croom executed a downhill, athletic finish in transition that helped set the tempo of the game. He knocked down a long catch‑and‑shoot three from the right wing and followed it with an impressive, aggressive baseline drive into a reverse layup. He continued to get downhill throughout the game, consistently putting pressure on the defense.

Pangos camps always serve as a hotbed for unknown prospects to establish themselves on the scene, and Croom continued that trend while earning Top-60 all-star status. A new name on our radar, the Queens product impressed while keeping things simple with a smooth and well-rounded skillset. He was effective stretching defenses out beyond the arc with a confident, compact stroke while also showing the ability to work to his spots off the bounce efficiently. We’ll look forward to tracking his progress moving forward as Croom looks to possess clear upside for the scholarship-level down the line.
