About Ryan
Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
McCarthy is at his best when getting downhill, using his aggressive mindset to attack the basket and finish through traffic. He is also a reliable perimeter shooter who cannot be left open for long, as he has the ability to make defenses pay from beyond the arc. His ability to score both off the drive and from the perimeter makes him a difficult matchup, forcing defenders to respect him at all three levels. McCarthy’s balanced offensive skill set gives him the versatility to impact the game in a variety of ways.
