Oriol continues to shine for this Apex Spurs group as a dynamic on ball creator that puts constant pressure on the opposition. Oriol has the blend of a great stop and pop jumper along with a quick first step that sees him blow by defenders with relative ease. He’s got complete control of this team as he runs the offense and engineers baskets for himself and others. Oriol has been a standout performer in essentially every event he’s played in so far and his team has had a lot of success in the process. Oriol will be a real factor at Willow Springs next year and this travel ball season is surely an indicator of what’s on the horizon for this young PG from the 919.

We talked about Oriol after his breakout performance at the Phenom Opening where he helped lead his Apex Spurs team to a 15u Championship and he’s done that twice now in three weeks after leading his group to another championship at the Phenom Rise Showcase this past weekend. Oriol is a lethal on ball creator and is capable of getting by basically anybody in front of him. He can make outside shots but his poise as he attacks the rim is really special for this stage. He played a quality complimentary role at Willow Springs last season and is looking like a guard in this class that people need to know about moving forward. The Apex Spurs look like the cream of the crop in regards to indy 15u teams in NC with Oriol being a major reason behind the early success.

Oriol was arguably the most impressive player in the 15u division all weekend long as he led the Apex Spurs to the championship of their bracket with his dynamic playmaking ability all weekend long. Oriol has a great blend of quickness and outside touch that allow him to be a true weapon on the offensive end of the floor. His handle and ability to manipulate angles make him nearly impossible to contain 1v1 off the bounce. Oriol has a ton of confidence in himself and his ability to get baskets in high volume. He was consistently leading his team in scoring on the weekend with his blend of transition attacks to the basket and isolation work in the half court. He had an impressive season at Willow Springs coming off the bench on varsity and looks to be more than ready for a much bigger role next season. Oriol has a chance to be one of the better guards in the area next season and he should continue to build over the course of this spring/summer with The Apex Spurs.
