The Ohio Buckets are always a team to watch at non live period events. Always a healthy amount of college coaches there to watch their 17 U teams and I thought Platfoot made a big impact in an early morning contest. A prospect who has grown a couple of inches since I last saw him almost a year ago, Platfoot’s game largely remained the same with how he impacted winning. A high motor player who is physical and rebounded the ball on both ends, Platfoot created second chance opportunities for his team. Platfoot also jumped a couple passing lanes which led to a breakaway dunk and a give and go layup. You see the explosiveness from Platfoot on the offensive end playing above the rim, but he also uses that pop defensively to block shots at the rim as well. A player who will be on a lot of scholarship radars this spring and summer, Platfoot is playing for a program that will allow him to be seen by the right coaches for his skillset.

Another small-town Ohio Buckets product, Platfoot had an excellent season on a Jackson Center squad that was one of the best in Division IV last season. I expect Platfoot to take that next step this winter and be the focal point of the team after Jackson Center graduates a talented senior class.

A grassroots teammate of Wood’s, Platfoot is probably the most productive guy on that Ohio Buckets squad. An impressive athlete from the wing forward position, Platfoot has thrown down some dunks and used his high motor to dominate the glass as well. Always a guy who plays hard, effort is never a question with Platfoot. I think my biggest question with Platfoot would be if he can shoot it from the outside, I haven’t really seen him use that skill in my handful of games watched of his.

Another athletic wing forward, Platfoot had one of the highlights of the weekend when on Sunday he had a put-back slam dunk that I caught out of the corner of my eye while simultaneously watching two games to the best of my ability. Platfoot is productive around the rim and has the bounce to get up and throw down. I also liked his motor on the glass, getting a ton of rebounds on both ends of the court. Defensively I thought Platfoot showed good IQ and knows where to be in help-side defense. Would like to see the jump shot start to be a weapon used more often but currently I like a lot of what he brings to the table for an elite small school high school program in western Ohio.
