Payson did the majority of his damage on the defensive end. He is a strong perimeter defender who consistently made an impact by being one of the first players to every 50/50 ball. He showed great anticipation when reading the offense, jumping into passing lanes and coming away with multiple steals. Payson was also a threat from behind the arc, knocking down shots whenever defenders left him open. He plays bigger than his size and showed that consistently throughout the showcase. Payson is the type of high-energy, two-way player that any coach would love to have on their team.
