Sagna, a guard out of the MacDuffie School in Massachusetts, checks in at #15 among the point guards and #119 overall. Sagna is a big, physical, tough guard that plays with terrific burst when attacking the rim off the bounce. He knows how to play at different speeds in ball screen actions and even shows the ability to step behind screens and knock down threes. He’s really good in transition, where he can use his quickness and his strength to his advantage. Defensively, he’s a high level point of attack defender that knows how to keep opponents out of the paint and away from their scoring spots. He’s also a capable rebounder that doesn’t shy away from contact or physicality in the paint. He has yet to announce his future plans.

Sagna, out of the MacDuffie School in Massachusetts, checks in at #16 among the point guards and #128 overall. Sagna got a late start to his senior season, but has come out strong since making his return to the hardwood. He’s a power guard with a physically advanced frame and high level athleticism, both traits that help him to operate as an elite defender, particularly in the open floor. He’s a crafty finisher at the rim, has some wiggle off the bounce as a driver, and knows how to use his strength to play through contact in the paint. He makes good decisions in transition and shows the ability to score out of isolations in late-clock situations. He’s a scholarship level talent that is currently uncommitted but should have some options at the Division I level come the spring.

First observation on Pat and I liked what I witnessed. He has a lot of talent around him so I would love the opportunity to watch him play again. Meaning there is only one basketball and a lot of mouths to feed on this loaded MacDuffie team but he took over the game at times; was an absolute Alpha in the scoring department. He had some tough contested finishes around the rim. He was dribbling in a phone booth when he had the chance. Defensively he can guard 94 feet, boxes out and tags players when in rotational defense. I would project him as a low level-mid-major D1, with a great D2 career.

Sagna makes his first appearance in the New England rankings at #130. The MacDuffie School guard is a quick twitch ball-handler that does a nice job of playing at different speeds, using his quickness to get into the paint and showing good floor vision once he’s in there. He’s a crafty finisher around the rim that has plus athleticism and the ability to score it over size in the paint. He’s a plus defender that is solid at the point of attack in the half-court, as well as at the top of the press. He’s really good laterally and has quick hands that allow him to make life difficult for opposing ball-handlers.

A shifty guard and a crafty finisher, Patrick Sagna put together two strong back to back weekends during the July live periods— showcasing his ability to use his quickness to put pressure on the rim and score at the basket in combination with his improvement as a sharp and decisive playmaker. Also demonstrating his ability to make an impact on the defensive end of the floor, Sagna displayed his ability to be a disruptive POA defender that pressured the ball the length of the floor.

Sagna has since received interest from St. Peter’s, Georgia Southern, Citadel, and Maine.

Running the show at the point guard position, Patrick Sagna was effective running the offense for Epic Elite. Sagna was decisive in the ways he was able to pick apart the defense as a facilitator in PnR situations— getting deep in the paint and hitting rolling bigs or open shooters out on the perimeter. Sagna also scored the ball effectively in transition, consistently putting pressure on the rim.

An overall fruitful weekend for the MacDuffie guard, Patrick Sagna showcased a balanced skillset that saw him produce as an on ball scorer as well as a reliable decision maker. Sagna has elite quickness and he often times used that ability to get in the paint and finish around the basket with good touch and craftiness while also being a reliable decision maker, hitting dump offs out the dunker spot or spraying the ball to open shooters out on the perimeter. Sagna also shined on the defensive end of the floor, pressuring the ball and being disruptive at the point of attack.

Sagna has garnered interest from the likes of St. Peter’s, Air Force, Navy, and Georgia Southern with a handful of other high academic Division I programs set to be on hand during the second scholastic live period next weekend.

Averaging 7.5 PPG and 6.5 APG for Epic Elite during UA Rise’s first session, Patrick Sagna continued to showcase his improving ability to set his teammates up for clean open looks offensively, all while also using his quickness to create offense for himself and put pressure on the rim. Sagna also showcased his ability to make the right reads in PnR situations and keep the defense honest. A prospect that should be on the radar for a lot of Ivy and Patriot League programs, Sagna is generating interest from Air Force, Penn, Yale, and others.

Running the show as the primary ball handler for this 17U Epic Elite group, Patrick Sagna will look to showcase his playmaking ability this weekend at UA Rise Session I. Possessing elite quickness and excellent athleticism, Sagna can consistently get downhill off the bounce and put pressure on the rim, both in halfcourt and transition scenarios. An improving facilitator, look for Sagna to display his ability to make the right reads and keep the defense honest while also being a strong downhill attacker.

Found teammates for scoring chances of their own. He takes big strides on the attack and can go coast to coast effortlessly on the attack. He shows flashes on explosive athleticism. Sagna shows flashes as a microwave scorer who can fill it up with ease on the offensive end. He found ways to get to the charity stripe. He needs to work on his shot selection and look to play off two feet when on the attack.
