His outstanding senior year has made Chase a front runner for the Mid Penn Conference’s POY. Over the weekend, this 3-point sniper who can also score off the bounce received an offer from Shippensburg University (D2).

One of the favorites to win the Mid-Penn Conference POY award poured in 35 points against an extremely talented Central Dauphin team. Smith popped 7 triples in that game. A couple of those made threes were from NBA distance. Still, it was Smith’s downhill dribble drives that impressed us the most. Smith relentlessly attacked the rim off the bounce. Once he got to the cup, Smith finished with either hand. When CD’s defenders managed to cut him off, Smith hit fadeaways or scored off two feet. His ability to absorb contact while putting the ball on the floor will impress college coaches.  

Smith is an offensive juggernaut who is always in attack mode. He is great getting to spots off the bounce in the half-court. Smith gets to the foul line often. Smith was able to find his teammates and make them better. He showcases his athleticism when he is on the floor by getting into driving and passing lanes. Smith is getting recruited by division 2 programs.

We do not get to watch prospects from Central Pennsylvania often, so we will not miss this opportunity to catch one of the most talented players from that area of the state. Smith is a lights out 3-point shooter who knocked down 53 treys last season. His logo distance range and ability to make off-balance shots are extremely impressive. His constant off-ball movement makes him difficult to guard on the perimeter. Smith is sneaky athletic and owns respectable end-to-end speed. That combination enables him to score on the fast break. He is an underrated passer too. In 2023-24 Smith averaged 23.9 points per contest and was 1st Team All Mid-Penn Conference selection.
