Owen is another freshman looking to make an immediate impact on the varsity level. One of the top freshman at our Showcase over the fall, stands at 6-foot 5-inches and already uses his frame well. Can finish strong in the paint and back his opponent down, but has a sweet touch and can step outside the paint and shoot over the top. Owen likes to put the ball on the floor and can create off the dribble, but that will be his area of biggest development aside from adjusting to the varsity speed and flow.

Owen did an excellent job of making an impact as a scorer off the bounce with a low and tight handle and seeking holes in the defense. He can finish well around the basket and step out and knock down the perimeter jumper. If Owen continues to sharpen his offensive efficiency and elevate his decision-making, ensuring he creates advantages with fewer dribbles. Emphasize his ability to create for teammates, play with physicality, initiate contact, maintain pace, and finish above the rim when necessary. Owen could be positioning himself as a strong contender to contribute on varsity for Coach Devin Williams and the St. John’s Catholic Prep program.
