Crosby was one of the better shooters in the gym today but also impressed me with his all-around offensive game. He has a beautiful shot from three which opens up driving lanes for his teammates and closeout attacks for himself, and I was impressed with his ability to find teammates for dump down passes and spray outs when the defense collapsed on him. Defensively, he’s very alert and always looking for steals in the passing lanes (he got a bunch today), but his size at 6-foot-5 also allows him to switch onto larger wings and forwards. Crosby is a perfect role player and is going to be an extremely important—yet probably under-discussed—part of St. George’s success this coming season. 

Crosby has a knack for squaring himself to the rim and getting shots up no matter where the defense is or how heavily they’re contesting him. He’s 6-foot-5, but he’s strong bodied and has a quick shot release, so he gets tons of shots up as a result of playing with really solid players on St. George’s—and he makes them at a high clip. Defensively, he can also guard multiple positions because of his strong body and conditioning level. I don’t know what level Crosby will end up at, but he’ll be a pivotal spacer and shooter for St. George’s this season despite the fact that he might not put up crazy numbers.

This was the first time I’ve seen Crosby play, and he wow’d me on Monday night with his ridiculous shooting performance. Maybe I just happened to be watching while he was hitting shots, but I must’ve seen him go about 8-8 from three on a variety of difficult shots both on and off the move. Once the defense overplayed his shot, he also had a really nice take to the hoop which he finished high off the glass with his left hand. I would be frankly shocked if he isn’t a big part of St. George’s team next season (where he’ll be transferring to), at least as a consistent role player.

Crosby, a new prospect in the Class of 2027 at Moses Brown, had a few solid showings recently on the camp circuit. A good shooter, Crosby has nice size on the perimeter and has proven to be a versatile prospect on both ends of the floor. He does a nice job of running the floor and doing his work early as a spot up shooter. He stays shot ready, knows how to find open passing lanes, and can put the ball on the deck to get into his mid-range game. Defensively, he can guard any spot on the perimeter and occasionally can step into the post and defender forwards. He should be one of the top underclassmen in the RIIL this winter and has the type of skills to develop into an intriguing college prospect over the next two years.
