The Cougars graduated their height last season so it’s up to Nolan and his 6’4 body to take up the slack this season. Kolthoff has a knack for the ball and reads it well off the rim. He’s put on some muscle this summer and can hold his own in the paint when needed. I like how smooth he runs the floor and can get downhill with the ball. Look for him to help lead this defending State Champion team back to another strong season.

Kolthoff isn’t a big-time scorer or offensive creator, but he does just about everything else on the court and is very valuable to this 2024-2025 Viborg-Hurley team. He has a knack for coming up with the ball with his length and athleticism, then going into transition himself or by making dime passes upcourt.

Nolan’s length stands out. He was able to show the ability to make a three to go along with his team-oriented and effort approach.

I thought Kolthoff looked quicker and more bouncy that what I had last seen of him on film. He could have been some sort of X-factor in this game, because he was getting it done on both ends. Anticipation and athleticism display. 10 points and filled the stat sheet in all the other categories.

Nolan is a long guard/wing for Viborg-Hurley. He’s a starter as a Sophomore, so he’s definitely someone to watch the next few years. Not a ton to speak on at this moment, but I think he takes a leap after this year with more experience and more physical development.
