Lee has an active motor and it was seen throughout the game I saw of his. He ran to the floor with motivation falls into scoring chances points and doesn’t give up on plays. His length comes in a factor when on the interior he blocks shots or comes down with rebounds. He has no problem doing the dirty work for the good of his team. He also has no issues screening and being effective in the half court for his guards to get downhill and free of space for them. Think he will see a fair share of suitors at the division one level over the next several months.

7p 11r 4b vs Durant
-Loved Lee’s contributions at both ends of the floor in a near-upset performance against a good Durant EYBL group. Lee almost finished with a double-double as an undersized forward prospect that made life really difficult around the basket for opponents trying to finish around the rim. I came away impressed with his defensive instincts to stay down on pump fakes to block shots effectively in the paint, hard hedge to keep guards looking to get downhill contained on the sideline, and ran the floor effectively to force the first man back to guard him and free up teammates on the perimeter. Truly unselfish teammate at both ends of the floor.

Audenried looks to be generating positive momentum heading into the season with a new-look rotation that includes a blend of transfers and internally-developed pieces looking to step up significantly in their roles. The key piece among the latter group if the Rockets are to reach their highest ceiling figures to be Lee, who showed continued progression on Saturday as a two-way force on the interior. More of an energy guy last year as a regular starter, Lee is looking increasingly the part of an offensive focal point with his ability to finish efficiently inside and his development as a decisionmaker or dribble-drive threat from the perimeter. His ability to thrive without the ball in his hands should also allow room for Audenried’s guards to thrive as playmakers off the dribble. Lee continues to look the part of a scholarship-level forward with D1 potential as he continues tapping into his versatility in the coming years.

Lee broke out in a smaller junkyard role last season, but on Sunday showed real progress toward being able to shine under the spotlight of being an offensive focal point. He got started with an emphatic dunk on the first possession of the day, impressing from there while patrolling the paint on both ends with his length, athleticism, motor, and burgeoning skillset. He’s always been able to control the rim and backboards, but the junior workhorse showed nice growth on a series of scoring moves via both postups and faceups, even drawing double-teams and hitting open teammates with timely reads. Young for his grade with a D1 physical profile, Lee could be knocking on the door of that level with further steady progress over the next year.

Maybe the biggest revelation of the night came through the performance of Lee, an active young big man with intriguing upside as he refines his game. After dealing with early foul trouble, he got back on the floor and made a quick impact with his energy up front. He’s a constant factor on the glass with sticky hands, strong positioning to carve out space, and a multi-effort motor. While still improving his finishing consistency, he’s regularly in the right spot to catch and finish, flashing ability with either hand. Lee also intrigues with his defensive versatility, particularly if he’s able to add more size to be a true rim protector. We look forward to tracking him into grassroots season.
