About Momen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I step on the court believing I’m the best player in the country every time. I don’t wait to prove it, I impose it. I play fast, aggressive, and with purpose. My first step is one of the quickest in the country, so if you’re late even a little, I’m already past you. I can score at all three levels, but what separates me is my mindset I attack weaknesses and control the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m Momen Yagoub, and my mentality is simple.I don’t fold, I don’t flinch, and I don’t back down. I embrace pressure because I know that’s where I separate myself. When the game gets tough, I get sharper. I stay locked in, disciplined, and focused on winning every moment, not just the game. I hold myself to a high standard every day whether it’s practice, training, or a real game, & be a leader.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’ve stayed involved in school and community activities outside of basketball, and I’ve also earned recognition for my work and character off the court. I received the magna cum lada award for a 3.5 and also was a A+ student in high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership, teamwork, and discipline through basketball, school, and everyday life. I know how to communicate, stay composed under pressure, and put the team first while still bringing confidence and accountability. I’ve also learned how to push myself, adapt quickly, and stay focused on a goal even when things get difficult.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up in a war zone in Sudan, playing basketball on a carton. I watched NBA players on TV, saying, “I want to be a superstar someday.” My mom & sister always encouraged me, “I dream every night, & I know you will be a star in the NBA someday.” My family faced struggles, it made me resilient, grateful, and hungry. No matter where I come from, my dream is real & I’ll work for it ever day.

What type of college are you looking for?

Colleges with great opportunities and have great people with good character! I love great community’s!
