King is a fluid scorer from the lead guard role. With good positional height, the long strider can elevate over defenders in scoring opportunities. To go along with a good handle, he gets to the rim, attacking defenders’ back feet regularly. When doing this, he scores with an effective floater game. Melvin keeps defenses honest from behind the arc. Last season he flashed plenty of ability to make shots off the dribble. When off the catch, King has a wide lower base which can cause him to get fouled at a decent rate. This year it’ll be interesting to see what progression he has made, as he has one of the highest ceilings in the conference.
