The super fast lead guard earned his way into the rankings. Davis just played excellent basketball throughout grassroots season. He was a playmaker with the pass, his handles and his ability to create and score. Davis put a ton of pressure on defenders and on defenses.

I had never scouted Davis before this grassroots season, and man was I missing out. He simply makes plays with his combination of straight line speed, shiftiness and handles. Davis can beat the defense down the floor, draw the D and dish or finish at the rim with creativity. Better yet, he’s just a really classy young man with a ton of potential on and off the court.

Martez had the ball on a string last night for Motor City Dragons. He was forcing guys to defend him well beyond the three point line, and from there was able to blow by them with his quick first step. No one on the floor was able to keep Martez in front of them as he was consistently able to get into the lane to finish or create for a teammate. Typically the smallest guy on the floor, Martez brought big production to the court for the Motor City Dragons in their opener.

Davis and a huge spring grassroots season and it seems as if that continued in high school summer ball. He’s a lightning quick and elusive guard. Davis can make plays for himself and his teammates with his handles and speed up the floor.

Davis has really made an name for himself on the Prep Hoops Circuit. The dynamic lead guard has shown the ability to play the point as both a distributor and a scorer. He can create off the bounce, we saw it in May and again this weekend. But we also saw Davis feed cutters and pass into the post this weekend.

Davis is an electric perimeter defender. He was able to cause some chaos in the backcourt this weekend, which we’ve seen from him before. Davis has lightning fast feet and created turnovers from baseline to baseline.

Davis was a standout at a second straight Prep Hoops Circuit event. He followed a standout performance in Dearborn Heights with an excellent weekend in Grand Rapids. Davis may be small, but he makes up for it with speed, quickness and explosiveness.
