Previous Rank: 161
-One of the best shooters in the area, Jones continues to ascend the rankings as he has proved capable of taking his matchup off the bounce after a few made 3s has necessitated a hard closeout. He’s also made improvements to his body and is sprinting the floor for longer stretches of time to beat the defense up the floor in transition to launch high-percentage looks from beyond the arc. If he can add strength and continue his development as an on-ball defender I’d expect to see several small college recruiters get involved.

-Jones has come on strong this summer and has carved out a nice role for himself as a floor-spacing guard that should be huge for the Eagles this season. Jones has grown an inch or two but has really improved his feel as a mover off the ball that sets screens for teammates to free himself up to come off of a screen himself. Despite his ability to shoot it over hard closeouts, he isn’t a selfish teammate and uses that shooting gravity to make the one-more pass to open teammates in order to get the best shot possible for his group. His handle has also improved to allow him to get to one-dribble pull-ups after ducking under a closeout much more smoothly and efficiently.

20p 3r vs Gonzaga
-Jones burst onto the scene in a blowout win for Clinton Grace over WCAC powerhouse Gonzaga with 5 made threes. The shooter is adept at moving to open pockets in the defense off the ball to create clean looks, gets off his shot quickly, can shoot it with range several feet behind the three point arc, and is an extremely confident shooter. Coming off a junior season that he served in more of a bench role, his shooting this season will be crucial to open driving lanes for the bevy of guards that the Hawks have at their disposal. If he can continue to be a pesky defender both on and off the ball, he can play his way into a big role with a Clinton Grace group that seems poised to be a top 10 team in the area next year.
