Rose, a senior guard out of Spaulding High School, is one of the top prospects in the state this winter and impresses with his athleticism and feel for the game. The senior is coming off a season in which he averaged 17.2 points per game and led Spaulding to a 6-12 record. He does a great job of getting downhill as a driver, showing the ability to finish plays around the rim with both athleticism, strength, and touch. He can make shots from behind the arc, create for others in transition, and isn’t afraid of the moment. Defensively, he has the physical tools needed to be a lockdown perimeter defender.

Marcel is the cousin of Jamier – a current freshman at SNHU who will play hoops there – and you can tell that athleticism runs in their family. The 6-foot-1 senior got hot from three in his first Saturday game; he made shots off the dribble, off the catch, and on the move. His shot looks really solid – he gets it off quickly and has good balance and footwork off of movement – but he’s also quite effective as a driver and finisher at the hoop. He has great strength and athleticism and is a very sturdy two-foot jumper. He should be a star for Spaulding High School this season and will be able to find a D3 fit.

Rose, the #186 overall prospect and 32nd ranked combo guard, combines shot creation, off the bounce playmaking, and defensive versatility to make a two-way impact. He’s a plus athlete with quick twitch movements that does a nice job of creating space as a scorer off the bounce. He’s got some real wiggle with the ball in his hands, makes plays for others when attacking in transition, and does a nice job of elevating into his shot to get it off over defenders. On the other end, he combines good size, plus length, and quickness to his advantage as an on-ball defender. One of the better prospects in New Hampshire, he should be highly recruited at the Division III level.
