Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Garcia is the unquestioned leader of the Lancers and he’s been showing out against some of their top competition this season. He finds ways to impact the game across the board. He’s a multi-positional playmaker on both ends, guarding multiple positions, creating off the bounce, and is one of the best rebounders at the guard spot across the state. He shows excellent instincts and toughness out there and is a consistent performer.

Kennedy faced a tough matchup with 3A power Garfield and were able to hang with the Bulldogs until about midway through the third quarter, largely in part to Garcia’s all-around play. He was able to get consistent paint touches by mixing up speeds, using some craft and footwork to work through multiple defenders, and finish or dime up teammates. Garfield applied pressure up the floor much of the game and Garcia was key in handling that pressure and getting the ball into space.

Garcia is a unique player who affects the game in a lot of ways with his anticipation. He can be one of the key playmakers out there and showcased his vision at the pop-up both in transition and in the half. That vision and anticipation also helped him rebound the ball at a high rate on the offensive end and led to numerous tip-ins. He makes great decisions, can knock down the midrange shot at a good clip, and slots into various positions to fill different needs.

Garcia is a wing who can do a lot of things for Kennedy. He uses his length defensively to guard on the perimeter, rebounds well inside, and has a little bit of playmaking to run the break or create in the half court off the dribble. He’s a promising player who showed up big for them in their game against Graham Kapowsin last Saturday.

One of the players of the game in their win against Graham Kapowsin, Garcia is a playmaking wing who made some nice dishes ahead in transition, found dump-off’s on his drives, and overall played a well-rounded game.
