Expert Analysis
Aasim Sullivan | Prep Hoops Scout
Rodriguez is a big wing who continues to expand his game and show more confidence as a complete scorer. He plays with strength and athleticism, consistently getting up around the rim and finishing through contact. His ability to score inside makes him a tough matchup, especially when he’s attacking downhill with momentum. Rodriguez also flashes skill with his handle and touch, giving him more ways to create offense beyond just cuts and transition. He rebounds his position well and uses his size to make an impact on both ends of the floor. As his game keeps developing, he’s becoming more reliable in big moments for his team.

Rodriguez is a force in the paint and changes the game with his size, physicality and effort on both ends. Offensively, he threw down multiple dunks on people throughout the Prep Classic but also showed some finesse moves near the hoop and a decent looking outside shot. He’s able to bully his way through opposing forwards but has the touch necessary to finish over bigger forwards. He’s one of Albany Academy’s best players and should be getting scholarship looks.

Rodriguez is a versatile stretch four who can finish strong around the basket and knock down the three with consistency. His shooting ability spaces the floor and creates driving lanes for teammates. He runs the floor well in transition, often beating defenders down the court for easy buckets. With his blend of size, skill, and mobility, Rodriguez is a dynamic offensive threat.

Rodriguez, a talented forward out of the Berkshire School in Massachusetts, has an incredibly high level of skill for a 6’8″ prospect. He has the size needed to play out of the post, but also shows a game that can stretch to the perimeter as a shot maker and creator off the bounce. He does a great job of playing out of the mid-post, where he uses his size to see and score over the defense. Defensively, he’s a high level rebounder that has the ability to guard big, forwards, and wings.

Rodriguez is a tactician on the block and had no problem converting post moves inside. He was active on the boards and in good spots to secure rebounds. Rodriguez showed some ability to navigate to spots on the floor off the bounce. I liked how he can be a threat as a floor spacer. His trajectory as a prospect has upward growth. Low and mid majors should start to track Rodriguez.
