Lang is a work in progress, but I continue to see improvements in his game every time I watch him play. This weekend, the 6-foot-8 center manned the paint for Rivals and helped them contend with a really tough Middlesex Magic team, mostly by defending the rim effectively and deterring drives and shots in the paint. He uses his length to block and contest shots, but he also doesn’t foul too much and has great discipline. Offensively, he runs the floor and provides vertical spacing with his ability to catch lobs and finish dump-down passes. Lang will find a D3 fit and could look a lot better in a couple years with some focus on his development.

Lang has great size and length at 6-foot-8, and he’s starting to understand his body a bit more on both ends. The senior knows how to effectively protect the rim on the help-side and has surprisingly good instincts on that end, and he caught a couple of lobs and threw them down on the offensive end, which showcased what his potential can be. Lang still has to become more coordinated and skilled, but this system should help him improve there. He’ll find a D3 fit when the time comes.

Lang, a forward out of the Brimmer & May School, impressed with his activity level on both ends of the floor. Lang quickly caught my eye with his length, as the 6’8″ forward has a plus wingspace and does a nice job of utilizing it to his advantage on the defensive end of the floor. He’s active around the rim as a shot-blocker and shows the ability to be disruptive in passing lanes. I thought he did a nice job of running the floor in transition, while also being an efficient finisher around the rim.
