I wouldn’t dare force Simmons into a position, but for an article’s sake, I’ll call him a ‘post player’. Maybe that’s what I liked so much when I saw him over the weekend. Simmons just looked like he could influence a game from anywhere. And he showed that he could defend all over the floor.

Simmons made some noise in grassroots play and has turned some heads during summer ball. Simmons has showed off a dangerous jumper and the ability to get it off at any time. He’s an athletic shooter that can create and pull up off the bounce. Simmons had a 28 point hame at the DZone scrimmages.

Simmons has shown some real growth in his game. He’s shown that he can work with the ball with both hands. But he’s at his best utilizing a left to right crossover and creating space. Simmons can pull up mid range as well as finish off that crossover.

Lewis has a picture-perfect look from beyond the arc—and it’s not just for show. He’s capable of knocking down threes at any moment. Along with his shooting ability, Simmons brings a steady handle. While he may not be a true lead guard, he’s more than capable of bringing the ball up when needed.

Simmons is an exciting prospect that has a bright basketball future ahead of him. He’s an athletic player that can put the ball on the ground and go. Simmons is slick with his handles and is probably at his best when he gets downhill with the ball.

Simmons had a day on Saturday and proved that he can do things with the ball. He made athletic plays off the bounce that really pressured the D. Simmons was able to split defenders on an attack through the lane and score.
