How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

LJ’s basketball playing style is versatile, competitive, and team-focused. A natural athlete, LJ brings strong court awareness, plays solid defense, and can contribute across multiple positions. Offensively, they’re effective both attacking the basket and making smart plays for teammates, while their athletic background adds hustle, speed, and intensity on every possession.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

LJ’s personality is driven, resilient, and grounded, with a natural confidence that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. They carry themselves with purpose, balancing competitiveness with composure. Mentally, LJ is tough and disciplined—someone who doesn’t fold under pressure and uses challenges as fuel. They stay focused on the bigger picture, value growth, and bring a “do what it takes” mindset.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Lj is a member of Kappa League, a NAACP life member, the founder of his own nonprofit “Lj’s Closet.”

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Recently, LJ has been sharpening a mix of leadership, discipline, and adaptability. LJ has also built a higher level of consistency and discipline, staying locked in on goals and following through even when things get challenging. On top of that, their emotional control and maturity have grown, allowing them to stay composed, focused, and productive in high-stress situations.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

LJ faced a life-shaping challenge at a very young age, losing his father to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis at just 7 years old. That experience also shaped his mental toughness and perspective—understanding adversity firsthand, valuing every opportunity, and not taking time or relationships for granted.

What type of college are you looking for?

LJ’s goal of earning a full-ride scholarship to a Division I HBCU is rooted in both ambition and purpose. It’s not just about playing at the next level—it’s about creating opportunity, continuing his growth, and honoring everything he’s worked through. Choosing an HBCU represents a desire to be part of a strong cultural legacy, to grow in an environment that celebrates identity & excellence.
