Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
This under-the-radar big man showed some real flashes over the course of the summer. Herzog averaged a career-best 8.2 points and 6.9 rebounds last season as a junior and could see significant jumps in both categories this season based on what we saw over the summer. He finishes well around the basket, passes it well out of the post, and does a good job of impacting shots on the defensive end of the floor. Small college programs looking for a 6’7″ center should definitely consider checking out this Covington High School senior.

We had the opportunity to get our eyes on this big man at a couple of Prep Hoops Circuit events during the spring with Legacy Ice Elite . Herzog is a legitimate 6’7″-6’8″ and plays with a good motor. He tracks the ball well on the glass, goes to get it with two hands, and flashed some finishing ability inside of 10-feet on the offensive end of the floor. As you build your list of big men in the 2026 class he should be one to evaluate.

Herzog’s size at 6’7″-6’8″ obviously catches your attention as soon as he steps on the floor. However, he really appeared more comfortable this weekend as a finisher, rebounder, and interior defender for Legacy Ice Elite . He was confident as a scorer with his right hand when the ball was thrown to him and much stronger on the glass than we had seen before. There are some intriguing tools to monitor heading into the summer and Herzog’s senior season at Covington High School.
