How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m 12 years old and a 5ft 9in guard who plays downhill and competes on both ends. I attack the rim offensively, but I take just as much pride in my defense. I play aggressive on-ball defense, rebound hard for my position, and use my length and timing to block shots. I bring energy, toughness, and a high motor every possession.”
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Off the court, I’m known for being a bit of a class clown and keeping things light. But when it’s time to compete, I lock in. I take my role and my team seriously, and I’m often looked to as a leader on the floor. I’m very competitive, driven, and always pushing myself and my teammates to be better.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Yes, I’m involved in several activities outside of basketball. I’m active in 4-H and help my sister prepare her show pig for competitions. I’m also on the academic team and maintain straight A’s and B’s. I’ve received multiple academic honors, including Superintendent’s Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll. In addition to basketball, I play first base in baseball and compete in cross country.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve developed leadership, teamwork, discipline, and a strong sense of community. I’m often looked to as a leader on the court, and I take that responsibility seriously by communicating and leading by example. Through 4-H I’ve learned responsibility and commitment. My dad serves on the board of a nonprofit baseball league, and I spend a lot of time there supporting our community.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Yes. I’ve faced personal challenges in my family life that required me to grow up quickly and become more independent. Those experiences have pushed me to be mentally strong, self-motivated, and focused on creating my own path. They’ve helped shape my work ethic and drive both on and off the court
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college that will allow me to continue to grow as a basketball player and as a person. I want a program that will challenge me, develop my skills, and push me to reach my full potential both on and off the court.
