Another workmen like performance from Roehrig who got the game started with a tip in layup to get the Panthers on the board. Knocking down a pair of corner 3-pointers and another where he was trailing the play, Roehrig helps space the floor for Maysville, giving their guards wide open lanes to drive through. Even blocking a 3-pointer, Roehrig and Maysville’s collective team defense was exceptional all game long.

The Maysville Panthers are an electric team to watch and the continued improvement of Roehrig gives them a chance to run it back as state champions. Stepping up against top competition, Roehrig poured in a career-high 46 points Vs Kettering Alter in an overtime victory and had a team-high 24 points in a win over Akron STVM at the shot clock shootout. Roehrig is an impressive set shooter but his athleticism and ability on the ball makes him a tough cover at the high school level. Expect to hear a lot about Maysville as the playoffs continue to approach, they are looking for a third consecutive trip to state with this loaded senior class.

Maysville took a tough loss to open their season but the Panthers still have a lot to look forward to thanks to a furious second half comeback that allowed them to tie the game with under a minute to play. I thought Roehrig was the Panther’s most productive overall player on Friday as he impacted the game in a variety of ways. A strong forward, Roehrig was securing rebounds and finishing in the paint efficiently. A smart decision maker, Roehrig is the type of forward you can give the ball to and trust to make the right decision.
