Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The 6’8 big man is scoring 12.3 points and grabbing 6.5 rebounds per contest for Head Coach Kenny Edwards. Mays is a mobile, athletic, lefty post player with plenty of upside. He is a rim runner who can also change shots in the lane. The senior picked up two scholarship offers in late November and there are likely more on the way.

Mays was shot out of a cannon to open against Calvary Day, scoring on two nice righty hooks. Kamaree showed clean footwork as he spun off the defender to get a glimpse of space. The highlight of the day came on a post spin into a slam dunk. The long lefty has all the tangibles. He jumps out of the gym and has great size. Putting it together for the full 32-minutes nightly is the next step of development for the uber high ceiling forward. Mays collected 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in front of D-II and D-III programs.

Mays is a pogo-stick athlete with a lefty stroke. He’s a double-double candidate every night, excelling in the paint while flashing touch on the perimeter. He’s a lob threat, rim protector, and defensive presence that D-II schools already have their eye on. With consistency, Mays’ ceiling is significant.
