Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
A tough, intelligent wing who can defend multiple positions, knock down shots off the catch, and serve as a secondary playmaker, Powell is the typical Kennedy guard who can do a little bit of everything and be relied upon to make the right plays on both ends of the floor. He averaged 4.5 points and 1.7 rebounds per game as a junior role player and will step into a much bigger role as a senior leader.

Powell is a typical Kennedy wing, a player who does everything pretty darn well on both ends of the floor. He’s a good team defender who isn’t afraid to mix it up with bigger bodies in the paint or hold his own on the perimeter. Offensively he’s a ball mover who understands his role, knocking down shots off the catch, cutting to the rim off the ball, and creating plays when the opportunity presents.

Powell is a tough, long wing from Kennedy who possesses a lot of the attributes that you would expect a kid from Kennedy to have. He’s a good defender, both on and off the ball, positioning himself well and rotating. He’s difficult to slow down when he’s playing downhill and attacking the rim, and he finishes well through contact around the bucket. He can shoot it a bit off the catch, sees the floor well and keeps the ball moving offensively. He had a solid all-around performance on Saturday.
