WV Gold had an excellent weekend with a strong presence of 2026 prospects leading the charge. Pratt is one of the top guards from Pittsburgh and is already committed to Columbia. Pratt is shifty on the ball and uses the step through move to his advantage. I also am consistently impressed with Pratt’s poise on the ball, making no-look passes across the court to throw off the defense. Defensively, Pratt provided tough on-ball pressure and had a pickpocket steal and score just before halftime to extend WV Gold’s lead. Pratt will have a chance to see the floor early in his college career due to his well-rounded game.

Pratt who was the player of the Year in 3A last season. Has transferred to Lincoln Park who plays is 5A. I think he will be one of the better prospects in that classification. He is known for his ability as a scorer and can collect points in the blink of an eye. He committed to Columbia earlier this fall which is a solid get for both parties involved. His veteran experience should help a young Lincoln Park squad who was one of the youngest teams in the state last season.

The Columbia pledge impressed with his ability to score the basketball at all three levels. He is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He does a nice job of changing gears when on the attack to the cup. On the defensive end he applied great ball pressure which led to steals. He also collected rebounds. We all know that Pratt is a natural scorer. Pratt showed some flashes as a facilitator but my challenge to him is to become more frequent with it throughout the year.

There is major news out of western Pennsylvania as Pratt (2x state POY) is departing Aliquippa and transferring back to Lincoln Park. LP is a charter school where Pratt spent his freshman season. Last year while playing for Aliquippa at the 2A level, Pratt posted 22 points per game and splashed 49 threes. Over his career, Pratt has poured in 1,200+ points and is a three-time All-WPIAL selection. Pratt is an athletic and tenacious guard who excels at scoring in transition. His combination of three-point shooting and off the dribble scoring make Pratt a serious match-up issue for opponents in the half-court too. This is a story to keep an eye on as it will be interesting to watch if the PIAA allows Pratt to take the court at LP.

Pratt was a welcome addition back with West Virginia Gold as he provides a unique dynamic as a combo guard who can play on or off the ball and create shots for himself. Creative off the dribble, Pratt is tough player to stay in front of because of his quickness and pull-up shooting ability. While Pratt is most known as a scorer, his scoring ability makes life on his teammates easier due to his gravity and passing ability. Holding a handful of Division I offers, Pratt will be a player low to mid major programs have their eyes on during the May live period next weekend.

Pratt had another steady performance on Saturday. He showed that he could score the basketball at all three levels. He really does a good job at scoring the ball around the bucket and has an arsenal of different finishes he can use around the rim. He did a good job getting to spots in the mid-range. Pratt showed flashes of getting others involved with his passing. He finished with 27 points. He found ways to come up with steals. Pratt used his length by altering a shot right before time expired. I would like to see Pratt settle less on the offensive end sometimes I feel that he can just put a shot up to put a shot up. Also I would like to see him play off two by using jump stops when getting downhill around the paint.

One of the most talented scoring guards in western PA, Pratt had a big game as Aliquippa finally beat an Ohio opponent on third third try this season. Pratt uses his quickness and change of direction to get past the primary defender and also knocked down a couple tough shots from the outside. For Pratt to take the next step in his game, his processing as a passer needs to increase, if he can start setting his teammates up more consistently he will become more intriguing to Division I college programs.

Pratt showcased his 2-way game throughout his team’s win over Penn Hills (PA). He found ways to turn defense to offense and is making his mark as an on-ball defender. He hit several shots from behind the arc. Pratt also does a good job finishing around the bucket and has a nice layup package. He got to the foul line. Pratt also can run the show and find open teammates. Pratt had a game high 29 points.
